Meeeting in ULEB's site, with the new competition model for the European League proposed by FIBA

Today, Wednesday 23rd February 2000, some club representatives have held a meeting at the ULEB’s site in Barcelona. The following clubs have been present:

AEK BC	Fortitudo Bolonia	C. Estudiantes SAD
Peristeri BC	Pallacanestro Treviso	CDB Sevilla SAD
Olympiakos BC	Pallacanestro Varese	FC Barcelona
Panathinaikos BC	Virtus Bolonia	Real Madrid CF
PAOK BC		Saski Baskonia SAD

The represented organizations have exposed their disagreement with the new competition model for the European League proposed by FIBA and the agreement between FIBA and ISL for the centralization of television rights.

They have also decided to unify their representation through the ULEB, as their interlocutor for the subjects related to the European Club competitions.

With this aim, ULEB’s President, Mr. Eduardo Portela, will hold a meeting with FIBA’s General Manager, Mr. Borislav Stankovic next Friday the 25th of February in Munich, to inform him about these doubts and submit the decalogue agreed to by all the present clubs to him.
