VIRTUS BOLOGNA
The Virtus Basketball Club was founded in 1927 and it's "V" symbol has always been on the internationally know black and white uniforms.
The Virtus basketball team has played in 63 consecutive First Division championships with a total record of 1040 games won in 1537 played (67,7%).
In 1984 Virtus also obtained the right to wear the "Golden Star" (only team with Olimpia Milano and Pallacanestro Varese) symbol of ten Italian Championships won.
Virtus has always taken part in the Italian Championship playoffs, with a record of 96 games won in 159 played, reaching the finals 10 times (7 won).
In 1998 against AEK Athens, Virtus won the Euroleague (58-44)
In 1990 against Real Madrid, Virtus won the Cup of Cups (79-74)
Finalist also in Euroleague (1999) Cup of Cups (1978) and Saporta Cup (2000)
Virtus has been invited to two Mc Donald's opens, playing in Munich and in London the finals against Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets of the NBA.
During the years, 45 Virtus players have been selected for the Italian National Team and 21 played in the Olympic Games.
